Scandinavia
Many fans of underground music are
aware that there was a surge of great bands out of Sweden in the mid 80s, led by bands
like the Nomads, Stomachmouths, Pushtwangers and Shoutless. Fewer people seem to realize
that Finland has consistently had a tradition of great rock and roll since the late 70s,
when the Sex Pistols toured there and ignited an interest in punk. And lately the
Norwegians have been checking in with their own contributions...although they have fewer
bands, the quality of the best bands is absolutely world class.
